Sorority Greek Letters Gift

I was browsing on eBay today and found this handmade Kappa Delta letters set. This is a great idea for sorority sisters that enjoy making sorority gifts for little or big sisters. I'm not sure what it is made of, but it looks like paper maché.  I have seen paper maché  letters something like this in the craft stores.

The "K" and the "D" appear to be painted in a light green with white polka dots and outlined with a deep forest green color. The letters are embellished with Kappa Delta symbols of  a white rose, a precious little brown teddy bear and a cutesy paper and button flower.  I like the way she added a handpainted "sisters" at the bottom of the "D" so it looks like the set says "KD Sisters"

I doubt you can find the Greek letters to decorate. Probably only the Greek letters that are also regular (Latin) letters will work like Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) or Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) and many others that would work with regular letters.

The hard way would be to make your own paper mache letters cut from styrofoam with a bread knife.  It is easier than it sounds, but it may be hard to have it turn out as neatly as you would like. Also, styrofoam doesn't lend itself well for being painted. Styrofoarm letters would look best covered with scrapbooking paper on the front side that faces out.

A better Greek letter set could be made from wood. If you have saws, cut letters from a  light-weight board.  Any Greek letter could be cut from wood. Draw off patterns before you start.

This is a nice item to have if you enjoy making sorority gifts.  I found it on ebay, but I am not sure that it is always available.  Check ad at the bottom of this post to see if it is still available.

Also, the seller says in the description that he has the individual Greek Letters for sale also.  That would save you from buying a lot of letters that you don't need.

You can use this set to make greeting cards and stationary that is personalized.

1. Just get a pack of blank cards in white or the color of your choice.

You can even make your own cards with scrapbook paper.

2. Stamp on your Greek Letters.

3. Then embellish with flowers on any other design.

Draw lightly with a pencil (so you can erase if needed).

4. When you like  your design, then use a fine felt tip marker to make your permanent design.

5. Fill in with colored pencils for a soft look or watercolor markers if you like it brighter.

Greek Letters Fabric

Kappa Alpha Theta Letters in sorority's colors and ready to iron-on.  My friend Pat White makes Greek letters for every sorority. You can choose your fabric and letters exactly.  The letters are inexpensive, too, and such high quality that your projects are bound to turn out well.  If you can iron, you can make something great with these letters.

Greek Letters for Sororities

Do you ever have trouble finding your letters in the sizes that you need.  A college store often carries the smaller sided letters, but it is harder to find larger Greek letters.

I've found a source for wooden Greek Letters in all sizes: craftcuts.com

The letters are cut from Baltic Birch with computer guided systems. The unpainted wooden Greek letters come in large or small sizes.  They are great for signs or fraternity and sorority houses.
